This limited-edition Converse Chuck 70 pays homage to Earl “Big Cat” Lloyd, the first-ever African American player to play in an NBA game back on October 31, 1950, when he put on the jersey for the Washington Capitols. The high-top Chuck 70 nods to Earl with several references to his life, his career, and basketball in the 1950s. And last but not least, it is the first time another name has ever replaced Chuck Taylor’s on the sneaker’s license plate.
