New Balance 992
Initially introduced in 2006 as part of New Balance's 100th anniversary celebrations, the 992 is widely regarded as one of the most popular styles to arrive from the Boston brand's coveted 99X series. Designed by Jonathan Bacon and made famous by the likes of late Apple CEO Steve Jobs, the New Balance 992 introduced ABZORB SBS shock absorption technology to the world, bringing a new realm of comfort to the "dad shoe" trend. With its slightly sportier design compared to its predecessor, the 991, and a premium construction, the New Balance 992 quickly became a favorite amongst collectors, before being discontinued in 2010. It took almost 10 years for the 992 to make its return, and since then, it has gone on to grow even further in popularity, with the likes of Joe Freshgoods, JJJJound, WTAPS, Levi's, and more, all putting their own spin on the classic silhouette.
