Tremaine Emory also known as Denim Tears is an LA-based designer and known for his many affiliations with the who-is-who of today’s tastemaker scene. Now he has joined forces with Converse on a red, green, and black sneaker inspired by Jamaican political activist and Black nationalist Marcus Garvey’s Pan-African flag and artist David Hammons’ 1990 work “African-American Flag,” an original of which was acquired by the Broad museum in Los Angeles last year. The Converse Chuck 70 Ox x Denim Tears is crafted in original canvas, offering a co-branded license plate at the heel as well as a unique insole.
