Here’s a little excursion to the origins of the Nike SB Dunk. It all goes back to the late Sandy Bodecker and his vision of how to revive Nike’s skateboarding department 18 years ago. His idea was simple, use a silhouette that is already skated and appreciated by the community (the Nike Dunk for that matter) and give it a little bit of skate-infused love. Now, sign 4 skaters: Gino Ianucci, Richard Mulder, Reese Forbes, and Danny Supa give them each a unique colorway, sell the shoes in core skate stores and change the sneaker world forever. What sounds so easy, wasn’t back then, and most of the success has to do with Sandy Bodecker and his beliefs in the culture. That’s the reason why we have all these crazy collabos and colorways like this eye-opening Nike SB Dunk Low Pro "StrangeLove" in partnership with StrangeLove Skateboards, perfectly fitting Valentine’s Day. Made from plush velvet and featuring “Heart Skull” embroidery this shoe is more than just a skate shoe, it’s a love letter by Sean Cliver to skateboarding. RIP Sandy!
