The adidas Originals Forrest Hill is one of those classic tennis shoes that made it through summer and winter no matter the weather. First appeared in 1976 as a prototype test-version with a release later in 1977, the Forest Hill was named after the Forrest Hill US Open location in Queens, New York the OG Metallic Gold sneaker featured a space-proven NASA insole and a super light 246-gram cupsole. But what made the shoe a cult sneaker was not its tennis history but its close ties to football and the end ´70s, early ´80s “Terrace-Days”. A time when British football fans followed their team (especially around London, Manchester, and Liverpool-based fans) around Europe bringing back chic sportswear like Fila, Ellesse, Fiorucci, Lacoste or Kappa. The casual look was topped off with adidas Forrest Hill shoes. With a little help from the movie “Awaydays” from 2009 the shoe got another boast and after further retro models in 2009 and 2011, in 2018 the adidas Originals Forrest Hill sees a wider release. The white leather upper is matched with a Collegiate Burgundy on the midsole and heel to give the old-school classic a vintage vibe.
