With the Air Jordan 8, Tinker Hatfield wanted to take a different route and leave the Nike sign away. The reason for that was, that Tinker thought that after 7 Air Jordan models the Jordan brand was strong enough to stand alone and if you look closely you can see that there is none. When the shoe came out the first time in 1983 the sneaker world was blown away by the new silhouette and the crazy colorways.
