The Nike Air Zoom Generation is LeBron James` first signature shoe. It was a collaborative work between Nike designers Tinker Hatfield, Eric Avar and Aaron Cooper. To ensure that LeBron was happy with his first shoe and it would fit his needs on but also off the court, early meetings between him and Cooper made sure Nike was on the right path. The inspiration for the shoe came from LeBron`s style of playing, a “modern day soldier” as LeBron`s competitive travel team was called “Soldiers”, keeping an “futuristic special force” aesthetic from top to bottom.
For All-Star Weekend, Nike opens up their vault and releases the Nike Air Zoom Generation “Wheat”, the shoe that LeBron James wore during the Rookie Challenge during All-Star Weekend in 2004, making it a great retro model. Covered in an All-Wheat colorway with a gum rubber outsole this model offers responsive cushioning for better comfort.
