The Air Jordan X marks an important milestone in the Nike`s partnership with Michael Jordan. As Nike and Tinker Hatfield thought Michael was about to quit basketball for good (he just started his short Baseball career), they payed respect to Michaels career which ended in listing the biggest career milestones of MJ on the outsole. But, Michael wasn’t happy and didn’t approve of the design in the beginning, which happened the first time in their collaboration.
Now 23 years later (the original year of release was 1994) Nike blesses us with this “Purple Fade” version of the Air Jordan X. While most of the shoe is held in black with a shiny gleam, the midsole fades from black to purple hence the nickname. The “one-pull” lacing system as well as the mix of soft synthetic- and suede leather round off the shoe.
