The “Moon Particle” Nike Air Zoom Spiridon is the perfect shoe for your everyday life. It keeps the responsive cushioning with the breathable mesh upper.
First released in 1997 and named after the first Olympic Marathon winner Spiridon Louis in 1896, this shoe stands for Nikes shift to focus on lightweight trainers. To create this kind of lightweight fit, Nike uses a technology called “Caged Zoom” for better responsive cushioning, providing more Zoom Air technology in the model by protecting the Zoom Air system with a Pebax cage. Tests showed later that this system has the most cushioning for any Zoom Air technology. Similar to the Nike Air Zoom Alpha, the Nike Air Zoom Spiridon uses a Phylon midsole, while the upper has a mesh construction making the shoe breathable. The big Swoosh on the sides is complemented by a small forefoot Swoosh.
