Adidas has a rich history producing basketball sneakers, beginning in the 40`s with the “Trainingsstiefel” and later in the 70`s with the Superstar. Later, in the 90`s adidas tried out a more futuristic design with the Crazy 8, a high-top basketball shoe with a wavy midsole. This classic b-ball sneaker is part of the Day One series, a series paying homage to techwear and its functionality, which fits perfectly in today’s sneakerhead-portfolio, combining streetwear, sportswear and functionality. The silhouette is keeping the same look but with advanced technology, coming in a grey mesh upper and nubuck on the heel and forefoot. The cream-colored midsole comes with a lightweight cushioning all based on the injected EVA (ethylene vinyl-acetate) and a rubber outsole, while the lining is a mix of leather and textile. The ankle is wrapped by a strap, giving structure and stability. The lace-locks bring some color as well as the adidas logo on the tongue.
