Timberland

The Timberland story starts back in 1952 when Nathan Swartz bought a half-interest in the Abington Shoe Company. After working in pretty much every position in the company, he bought out his partners later on and moved the company to Newmarket, New Hampshire. Inspired by the area's blizzards, rainstorms, cold winters, and summer heat waves, the Abington Shoe Company introduced the original waterproof boots called the “Timberland” in 1973. The groundbreaking boot was made for outdoor fans and construction workers equally with its rugged construction, so good, in 1978, The Abington Shoe Company was renamed after it.
