After transitioning into the 2000s with intense force, the fashion landscape in Tokyo took full acceleration through a buzzing capital that held not back. Everything was possible in a new millennium, and after the toddler days of street cultures were in the past, a small boutique in Meguro started to gather the coolest things and made them available to a sub-cultural crowd. That store was Paradise City, and the year was 2005. Founded by Keiji Ishizuka, who has left the brand, and Atsuhiko Mori, the store became a universe for everything unique, that included their own brand, WACKO MARIA. The influential Japanese street fashion brand that still operates out of the iconic Paradise City location gets its inspiration from movies, music, American culture, and everyday life, a true melting pot of creativity that blends craftsmanship with colorful designs that follow the constant quest for perfection.
